It's because XR15 lights are very weak par lights. I have to run mine at 100% intensity to get barely enough par for SPS at the very top of my tank. You aren't even getting 100 par mid tank at 60%.

Oh man, this thing needs Jesus!

Get it into some flow and it needs more light.

I agree it was possibly insufficient light, but there is also a mushroom behind it and clove polyps next to it. There could be some allelopathy happening too. Fwiw I run an XR15 blue at 60% and can grow montipora just fine at any level, but my tank is a 50g cube and I also run a supplemental light bar, though I didn't before and had good results.
That being said, I had a bubblegum digi in a high flow area next to a hairy mushroom - it never seemed to do well and I believe it's well established clove polyps have potent close range allelopathic chemicals. I know the mushroom is behind, but still.

That's not to say you can't have sps and softies in the same tank

My bubblegum digi is growing like weed. I frag it over and over. Love high flow and light. 3 kessil a360x with 2 quanta pro meso blue
