No need to get a new bottle. Just put some of your tank water in the bottle and shake. Bacteria settles over time, hence the shaking.

Hi, i already threw away the bottle before seeing this. I bought a bottle of Bio-Spira (8oz). Can i go ahead and dump it in?
It's been 24 hours and i got a reading of 2ppm of ammonia.

Even though you didn’t shake the first bottle, you still got the nitrifying bacteria in your tank (the dose was smaller, so it’ll take longer to see results). But using the new bottle in addition won’t hurt anything.
