Forktail Blenny question

I bought a forktail blenny last Sunday and it doesn't eat too much except nipping rocks and occasionally finding something on the sandbed. The first 1 or 2 days it was swimming everywhere but after being scared by CBS and a bigger clown it stays usually close to the bottom, near the cave it now occupies. My other blenny, Midas never eats from rocks and always stays in the mid to upper part of the tank. Should I be worried? I don't know if it gets enough food. Is it a normal behavior of Forktail Blenny? Anyone with the same fish observed the same?

My forktail blenny is still alive but I'm not sure for how long though. It still nip on rocks. Anyone?

Is it skinny?

It is small and skinny, about 1.9".

Have you tried feeding nori?

Did you get him at a LFS? What were they feeding him and did you see him eat at the LFS?

No I didn't try nori. I got it from lfs in Manhattan and I didn't observe it eating anything at that time. I am trying to mix brine shrimp flakes with water and leave some of it close to its cave. I noticed the blenny nipping on the substrate and rocks from time to time so maybe it is finding some food there. What is nori, by the way. I have several different kind of food but not nori.

Nori is sheets of seaweed you can get at some fish stores and some grocery stores. Might be worth a call to the store where you got home to find out what they feed.

He's pecking at the rock/sand because he's eating whatever pods he can find. They are carnivores! Exactly what mine did! Mine also ate Rods Complete/Frozen brine shrimp and he loved the Nutramar Ova, which is high in Omega3 and HUFA
He is a *Fang Blenny* and his bite is poisonous. Don't think you need to worry much about the other fishes bothering him except him not being able to compete for food.
If anything he's being intimidated by other Blenny. Usually NOT a good idea to have 2 in a tank

Try target feeding him any of the above mentioned.

Thanks!. It's good to know. I'm curious , how long have you had him? Also, how do you feed him? Mine used to swim at the top but now usually stays close to his cave on the sandbed. I'm trying to leave him some flakes on the rocks next to his cave and I turn off the pumps.
