Formalin

Its in with a community tank and there is a lot of debris floating. What is your nitrate level as elevated nitrate can cause this with the Ray. Skin irritation is another.
What is your method of filtration?

The fuge should help with nitrate as will the skimmer but I suspect a nitrate issue especially if above 20. Another factor is PH wuich needs to be 8.1 - 8.3 for these guys. Blue spots are one of the prettiest but also one of the more difficult to keep long term.
Substrate, to confirm is it fine sand or coarse? They need fine sand at - at least 3"

It’s fine sand, most of the tank is 2.5-3”, but wavemakers blow the sand away from edges of tank. The middle cave-where he sleeps- has 3 I think

A couple days ago I missed two feeding days, that’s around when he started getting skinny. Is prazi out of the question now? The prazi I thought I had was actually expired so I never used it. The new prazi bottle comes today, should I still try it?
The ray doesn't look all that bad - I've seen a LOT worse, these can be very delicate when first acquired. I don't see any of the "death curl", where they fold their pectoral fins up....I always lose them when I see that....

I would try the prazi, since it can be done right in the tank. What brand product are you getting, Prazipro? If so, be sure to dose for the net volume of the tank, not its "rated capacity" - deduct 15% from that if you don't know the water volume, just to take into account rock and sand displacement. Be sure to add in the volume of a sump if you have one. Add airs tones if the tank doesn't have good aeration, and keep any skimmers running (but don't collect any skimmate during the treatment). Then, if you see an improvement, after 8 days, do a 25% water change and dose a second time.
