Hello, so I managed to find lab grade KNO3, I intend to use it to gently raise and maintain 2-3 ppm NO3 in my reef, which is chronically very low.
Is there a formula such as (x grams dry KNO3 in 1 gallon RO/DI will make a solution to raise say 100 gallons of tank water by 1ppm)?
Or even anything along these lines can be helpful. Also, is it safer to store dry KNO3 in this buffer solution or as/is dry in a cold place?
Thank you.

I've been dosing pure KNO3 powder for about a week. Don't take this as gospel, just my experience

Been adding 1 tsp of KNO3 to 500ml of RODI, stirring and pouring it near my return pump. Seeing a roughly 2.25-2.50ppm raise in NO3 on roughly 220-230g total volume. 2 80g tanks, 1 40b and 48" 64g tideline sump. No rock just fuge with ceramic media.
