So I just got home and was looking over my tank while the actinics were one. On the opposite end of the tank from where my Octospawn is, I saw something fluorescing in the sand. My Octo has always been super happy but this is surprising. What are the chances of this little guy surviving? Should it remain in the sandbed or should I glue it somewhere?

I'm guessing it got clipped by a rogue crab Jr something else. possibly bailout. if there's no skeleton attached I don't believe it will live.

I have 2 Scarlet Hermits but i've never had any problems with them. I also don't recall ever seeing any baby heads budding off this Euphyllia. It was a giant head but recently split into 3 heads. Maybe it got dropped during the split?

If you have scoly or acantho or acro ... in your tank
And the baby goes over it will burn them

THIS! It will kill!

Loose one scoly in that way
It tray to eat the baby and burn itself near mouth never survive after some week

Yikes, I don't have any of those at the moment but I do have an Acan in the sand. I wasn't able to find the polyp the next day so it either got swept under the rockwork with the flow or something ate it.

For what it's worth; I had the same situation, but found a piece even smaller than that in the sand 2 months ago. Stuck it in a crevice in the rock and it has increased 10x in size and doing great, so if you can capture those and want new frags, they will grow..at least in my experience it will.

If it's a bud that has broken free of the mother colony with the proper care it should develop into a colony. If it's polyp bail out or nipping from either fish or inverts the piece may continue to inflate and deflate routinely but it's unlikely the piece will go on to develop a stony structure.
