Hey folks,
So I know some limpets eat algae and others potentially eat SPS. I found this guy in my sump. I’m guessing he must have come in attached to snail’s shell because I didn’t notice him and I dip all of my corals. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to identify these guys. Is this one a keeper or an SPS eater?

I have the same ones in my system and they have never been an issue. I have a bunch of tiny ones in my sump. From what I've read as long as they aren't the keyhole limpets, which this isn't, then they're fine.
The keyhole limpets will have a hole in the apex of the shell.

Snap a piece of sps from your dt and place in sump next to limpet could be another way to make sure,or at least a good indicator.
Just thinking out loud ha ha ^_^

Edit: Ovbiously after day or so put sps frag back in dt.
Just thinking about this idea and lots ways it wouldn't work also like if a certain creature/ critter only eat certain kind of sps or was little ill and didn't want to eat ( ha ha )
Or I just say etc etc
