Hello guys. I was looking at my tank and noticed a piece of the tip of my frogpawn floating in the aquarium. Dunno how,if the coral bandit shrip pintch it off or maybe a fish bite it. Any ideas.

I randomly get this from time to time also. I try to net them out as a few times a year I have some spots on various sps that appear to have holes burned in their flesh. Not sure if the two are related but I have a hunch...

So it's normal or should I be worried they the feogspawn is sick or dieing ? Stupid question also can those pieces grow into another frogspwan ?

My frogspawn all seem healthy and happy throughout the years so it has not seemed detrimental. Not exactly sure what causes it but I do have parameter swings fairly often as I do one large 40-60% water change every 4-6 weeks.

I doubt another frogspawn could grow from that but would not put anything past mother nature.

I have seen it many times. Not sure if all bad or what. As long as you don’t see the entire polyp bailed out and floating around, you should be good.

i had this too.

I think its just a part of the tentacle that ended up growing into a shape that caught the current like a propeller, and kept twisting until it rips.

mine used to send these missiles all over the tank and sting other corals, but one day it just stopped.
