Found hiding in my GSP

Any ideas as to what this is? I’m assuming they aren’t good considering they are starting to cover my GSP. I found a couple on the rocks also. They look little pineapples with a feather duster type of opening on top.

Looks like little pineapple sponge to me. I personally would worry about them although they are more commonly found in darker / shaded areas, sumps, and overflows. I think they are good but that is just me.

That or possibly balance their population based on food source and nutrients in the tank. I find them great additions to the micro fauna and cryptic zones.

looks like bryopsis growing on your GSP in the second picture and in the background of the first picture. Your GSP don’t look healthy or happy at all, and I doubt it’s the pineapple sponges that have caused it, it’s more likely the bryopsis, and or other parameters.

I’d be worried more by the color of your GSP base and them being closed up. I’ve never seen any that aren’t purple or at least lavender. The pineapple sponges are totally harmless btw.
