First time seeing these. There are tons everywhere in return section of sump and in skimmer.

Are these bad guys?

They look like detritus worms. They eat what there name suggests. The V shape gives it away. Normally dont see their heads as they live in the sand generally.

Commonly called feather duster worms, and/or tube worms. Great filter feeders and if your seeing an explosion in growth, your feeding to much.
I started dosing phytoplankton could this be the problem?

Yup, they feed/filter micro particles. Certainly not a bad thing, just watch what you put in the tank. If you start to see an explosion in growth, cut back on the micro foods.
