Firmly attached to a small bag of Purigen which was weighted down by the filter basket. Lights were off so maybe it's hiding some tentacles. It is about the size of a large grape. Any guesses?

That was my best guess. I did put it back in the water, and forgot to check it before leaving the house. I didn't touch it.

So, one of the RBTA made the 2' trek from the other side of the tank to join the foot on the bag. Dawn says it looks like it is shedding (I'm hoping not dying and disintegrating). Last night both of the RBTAs were huddled on the top of the heater, and I think the heater was not keeping up with the cold room, so I have now added a second heater to the tank.

I think it's very odd that they are both in the same place unless maybe that is the warmest place in the tank.?.

What heater are you using? A 50W heater should be able to keep your tank warm enough. Did you check your temperature?
I hope they will be okay. How did one get inside the Aquaclear filter?

The one that was originally on the Purigen packet was in the filter compartment and the filter intake is near the heater. At that time, it might have been the warmest place.

Picture a 20L. The filter is on a short side. The powerhead and heater are also on that same short side. After I photographed the bag, I clipped it on the other short side. So, that ought to be much cooler. But the larger one (that has tentacles showing) made its way all the way across to join up with the foot on the bag.

But in between, I did add a small heater into the filter, and the wanderer may have been seeking cooler at that point.

Dawn moved the Purigen bag to mid-tank, under the light.

It's a mystery, especially how the foot got into the filter, given that the intake is usually pretty well covered up by chaeto.

(Yes, this is like the sloppiest tank ever.)

No. This is from the mehaffydr teardown. The one you traded me is much more rainbow with colors ranging from blues through pink and has not split, though it does move around from time to time.

I would love to see a picture of that one.

I have two. One that has long tentacles and one with short ones. All from the same one that split into 3.

I have a hard time getting accurate color rendition, but I will try again.

The one in post #5 that is not just a foot has moved over to the rock and now looks like it is getting ready to split -- it has two footholds with the tentacles bunched up in the middle. (Also the foot has walked around from one side of the bag to the other -- now on the glass side.)

The other one that has tentacles still hanging out near the heater:

With the powerhead I would be surprised that any one point in the tank would be much warmer or cooler than another.

Update

The foot attached to the Purigen has now grown some tentacles:

And, Lindsey, here is the anemone I got from you:
