Check its back. If it's just white, you're probably good to leave it in. If there is color, dispose of it (I just put mine in mom's FOWLR...where they appear to be living pretty happily.) General consensus here in the forum is that the whites are harmless, but the colored ones will tend to eat coral.

Just an asterina. No worries. Some people claim they'll eat a zoa but in all my years I have never seen them hurt a healthy coral.

They only bugged my zoas. Don't think it was eating them but was making them close up. I'd put it in a sump or toilet

I had a couple of them in my smaller tank once before, they multiplied by the hundreds.
