I can't wait to take a trip to DC, I've wanted to got to the Smithsonian since I was a teen.

It is drivable in a day so you really should go. Expensive to stay in the city but with the metro it is easy to get anywhere. We were down there at least once a month when we lived in Baltimore. The Natural History museum was my favorite. It goes on forever; probably takes more than 1 day to see it all.
