I've lost several fish in this tank mysteriously since setting it up and lately I've lost 3.5 healthy mandarin fish, well tonight I was looking for my mandarin since I haven't seen it for a few days and I saw this giant worm on or around it. I quickly grabbed my long reach hemostats and started wrestling it, I had to remove the rock and the worm broke into several pieces trying to retreat into the rock, it was bleeding and leaving bristles behind as it fought me, I can't believe the strength of this thing pulling my hemostats I finally got every piece each one kept moving as if was a new smaller worm. this thing had to be 10" long or more I honestly can't believe it, this was kp live rock it came with lots of creatures from the abyss!

my goby is still alive for now but he's in very rough shape, I hope he makes it luckily he was very healthy, but now he looks pretty bad:(

I hope that was your issue, but just to play devil’s advocate, that looks like a bristleworm / scavenger. I don’t think they catch / kill live fish. Do you have a white light picture of the mandarin?

idk if it is either im hoping it is, the mandarin was definitely in some sort of scuffle with it but he looks like he was beat up, or had a rough night or two. either way that thing had to go it was big enough to have its way with any fish in that tank!
