Found this growing on my trochus snail

Hey, need help trying to figure out what this is. The growth seeming exploded overnight. I had not seen anything like this the day before. Let me know if you need any more details. They seem to red and spikey. Are they vermetid snails?

Hard to tell in the pic. Are they hard?

Possibly vermitids. I have an issue with them in my tank and they do like snail shells

Looks like algae to me.

Yea the snail moved from under that rock and was able to poke at it. It's soft and bends. Here's some pics.

I just notice some on mine too-if it’s green or red prickles then it’s algae. I just take them out of the tank, scrub them with a hard toothbrush, rinse off, then plop back in the tank
