Good or bad....sounds bad but have no idea how to get rid of it
if its Pseudocorynactis , its fine you can just enjoy looking at it.

Eh, IME depends where it came from. Usually-- not always-- ones from the Atlantic are hardier. Not sure which that is, though. Ball nems are usually pretty easy. I was just being a defeatist

What's the typical lifespan?They typically don't have long lives

I've never had one last over a couple of weeks after being seen. I guess the main factor is how much it's getting to eat.

Really? Huh. I had one for a year, one for 2 weeks, and one for 4 days. Like I said, I'm pretty sure it has to do with its origin, but diet is certainly a big factor as well. They are very sensitive to changes in acidity, I believe.
