Hello everybody, How are you ?

I speak directly here from Brazil and I say hello from here to all of you.

I'm new here at r2r. I am searching in forums here in Brazil but I am having difficulties in identifying this "animal" that I found. at first I don't know if it is an animal, plant, parasite, etc. and I came here to ask for help from this community.

acquire a seedling of coral cloves papaya with two polyps. at the base of one of them i noticed that there was something dark. looking closer I saw that it had a "daisy" shape. I thought it was a new polyp being born but I decided to find out not to run the risk of being a parasite. with the help of a needle I went to investigate and saw that it detached from the base with a lot of mucus.

I took these pictures with a microscope to try to help in the identification. they are between 2 and 4 millimeters in size.

Thank you for your help

Hi Cell!
Well, it had no tentacles. it was flat as a flat worm.

Pics a little fuzzy to tell

Eu concordo com você! o conhecimento deve ser compartilhado e tento compartilhar o quanto sei. Sigo na esperança de identificar o animal / alga / etc na foto

No worries lol. I thought it was portugués. I responded in Spanish because I could half understand what you said. Kind of a knee jerk reaction on my part as well! I don’t speak Portuguese so I went with the language I know that’s most similar. (Compared to English lol)

I’m here for the same reason. Sorry for the confusion my friend!

I hadn't thought about tunicates, and really, after the suggestion of being a tunicate, that was the journey I took until I found what I believe to be the animal in question.
they are B. schlosseri zooids. for those interested, I found a website talking a little more about these animals.

Well, I think the mystery is solved! thanks for everyone's help with the identification of these animals!
