1st one ive seen in a year,must of came on a coral i just bought..

That is an asterina star, as stated they can annoy zoa's or even worse eat them. If you have one, you have more. you can take them out one at a time or get a harlequin shrimp,but then you have to feed the harley.

I have a friend who buys the sword toothpicks and makes a game of taking them out and feeding them to his harley.

I thought the asterina had 6 legs. I found one last week in my display tank. For some dumb reason I sat it on a ledge in my frag tank while I worked there. When I went to get it so I could give it to the toilet gods, it had vanished. The only fish in my frag tank at the moment is a tail spot blennie. Did he grab it? I can not find it ANYWHERE.

I had a friend complain that those multiplied and at any given time he would see 40 or more around his tank. He bought a harlequin shrimp to take care of them. We have a few in our small 1 gallon, but all they do is eat the algae. I've never seen them eat any of the zoas.
