So my elegance hasn't bee looking happy lately and I'm curious if it's because of this little guy. Spotted him crawling all over it today. Kind of reminds me of a tick. Any ideas?

Looks similar to an emerald crab. Only thing is emerald crabs IME have fuzzy legs. But maybe there are some without that fuzz.

I would go trade him at the LFS for something else. I have had them and they have eaten snails and some coral if not fed. Only reason I got one a while back was cause I got a new piece of coral with bubble algae and they eat it. Then I exchanged him.

I don't see any large claws or "fanning" apendages. This guy is small, maybe 1/4" across. And under blue lights, his legs glow orange!

I'm kind of leaning towards a type of acro crab but not sure.

With non-fuzzy legs and tiny, pointed claws, this guy's probably about as close as you might find to a "safe" crab!

I don't know for certain, and don't know what he is ... but he's kinda cute!

He could be a small coral crab. But the points on his feet scare me. I do not think a coral would appreciate him walking across its flesh. Especially something poofy like an Elegans. I would at least segregate him for a day or two and see if the Elegans looks better

Well the elegance already started opening more this evening after taking him out. I have a fuge on my other tank I may put him in for now.
