I just found this critter on my sand. Very cool looking.
Is it a good or bad critter?![]()
Look closely around your zoa’s. Could have been eggs when they hitchhiked into your tank via a coral purchase.I have a bunch of Zoas.
Picked it off the sand but it was on the glass too. Glows orangey yelllow on sides
I’ll hold on to it for a bit.
Strange. I haven’t added anything in a couple of weeks.
Definitely do the dip, but you will need to inspect for eggs also as the dip won’t affect the eggs. If you can quarantine between the transfer and dip after an egg cycle to catch new hatchlings, that could help prevent carryover to your new tank.I am getting ready to move some Zoa‘s into a new tank. I’m planning a careful inspection and dip for all.
Sorry to hear this, they can be a pain. Several articles out there address treatment. Here are a coupleWell upon examine my zoas I’m infested with zoa eating nudibranches. I have dipped the zoas. And cleaned the rocks. Found around 10 in the post dip water.
any other suggestions? I plan on a redip again for the next 3 days. Cleaning off any eggs each time
