found this in the tank today and need help to ID if good or bad?

That's a polyclad flatworm (Phrikoceros mopsus) and they are bad.

excellent then i will make sure it doesn't make it back into my tank and also i assume where their is one their could be more?

Not necessarily. My friend found one in his tank and we never did find more, not even when he took it down.

cool appreciate the ID and have no clams but had lost some snails so presume that is what he has been eating on

This is the best thing I've heard all day! I'm crossing my fingers and toes that there is only one in my tank, which I have yet to catch.

Once I figured out I had one in my tank I put two and two together with my snail deaths too. My stomatella's seem to still be breeding and thriving though, so it must be living off of those now. Is that a hole in it though? You didn't leave any pieces in the tank, right? My understanding is the pieces that break off can then become another worm

that is a hole in it and can;t be sure that no residual was left in the tank but think it came out with it and was floating in the clear container that the pics were taken in and at least now i know what i'm looking for and will keep a more watchful eye in the future.
