Yeah I recently lost a few hammer and torch colonies I've had for a couple years. Couldn't find an issue other then a couple vermitids around the area. Got bumblebee snails and physically crushed AND super glued over every one I saw, hopefully the snails get the ones I don't see but yeah I took @vetteguy53081 advice and super glued over all I could see, hopefully I caught it early. They are bad, like they can nuke your tank, kill everything, corals, invertebrates etc., they are bad enough, to figure out how to get rid them off.
If they are on single piece of rock only take it and you can try one by one bit by bit to take them off (if they aren't that much), but usually they go and inside the crevices on the rock they are, and hard to take them off, but if you are good enough and with magnifier you still have a chance to take them off (be careful with the zoas not to stung you, and do it only under tank water separately from the tank - in another container).
you can search for Lynx Nudibranch Phidiana Lynceus this one eat only hydroids, after eat them all will starve to death.
@vetteguy53081 told you another method already you can try this one as well!
Another predator: pilgrim hervia Cratena peregrina .....
FISH: Majestic Angelfish / Pomacanthus navarchus but can pick up on corals and sponges.
I hear that and sea hair digest hydroids (don't know particular one)
Or just sacrifice the zoas and get rid of the LR/coral plug they are on.
so following this method, observe often now, because they hide in the tubes and they will try to make new openings, if you see any, glue it, in one moment they will die, if you are precise enoughYeah I recently lost a few hammer and torch colonies I've had for a couple years. thanks! Well I’ll keep scouring for them with my macro lens I’ll be sure to continue glueing them over as they pop if they pop up again which I’m sure they willso following this method, observe often now, because they hide in the tubes and they will try to make new openings, if you see any, glue it, in one moment they will die, if you are precise enough![]()
I think the nudis are the last resort (more difficult to find, at least I can't here in England) It's hard to find and nudis eating aiptasia (Berghia), so I make small farm to get more of them.Any luck on someone selling the nudis?
