I was taking some pictures of my corals last night with the pumps off and found something floating or crawling on a bit of bubble algae that is on one of my chalice corals. In the middle of the video is a clearer still photo. Can anyone tell me what this is??

Maybe one of those filament worms similar to a spaghetti worm??

It doesnt appear to me that it is any of the above. They look like tiny seeds and move interdependently.

Gotcha. Yeh its hard to tell without macro focus...It seemed to me in the vid the "seeds" were caught in a filament of some sort..I would take a pipette and remove some for closer observation..

I see a lot of those that are in sps colonies that I have. I started noticing them when taking macro colonies. I have no clue what they are but have always wondered myself. Like you said, they look like some sort of tiny seed that creates their own movement.

Do you think its from the bubble algae itself? They look like they group together so they must be swimming. At first I thought it was the bubble algae seeding itself. I may have to try again and see if i can get a reverse macro picture to get a closer look.

Pump turned off tonight and nothing. I was going to suck a few up for closer inspection and today they aren't there
