Hey @Humblefish I need your help finding ID on disease

IMG_0393.PNG

He has dark blotches under his fins and gills . Nothing like ich or velvet . He eats . He's not blind . Water level in the qt is around .25 doing water changes but I know they have clean water because they stay active !

@Alex caracheo I can see dark splotches on him now, which probably means he has a bacterial infection.

Unless he is still transitioning into an adult?

He is under 4 inches definitely in his transitioning face . He eats . He's active . He doesn't have ich ,velvet popeye . I can tell his colors are getting brighter . But correct those dark splotches appear 1 by one he's had them for about a two weeks

What do you recommend I treat him with? May I mention he really won't eat nori. Everything else he will eat tho . Frozen ,pellet , flake , and he grazes right now he's being treated in copper aswell I am feeding dr gs medicated food

Will he make it? He doesn't have any redness in his Gil's I also noticed he's been breathing slower and less lathargic and skittish
Which is why I have my hopes up

Impossible to know for sure. Fast treatment with antibiotics will increase odds.

Furan 2, kanaplex, and metroplex (the trifecta) are what I would try

For sure . Going to hit up the lfs in a few . I don't know why I hesitated to purchase these first

If he's still transitioning, then those dark splotches you are seeing could just be a part of the change. Worst case scenario would be a gram positive bacterial infection, since a gram negative would have killed by now. A fish's natural immune system is usually capable of overcoming a gram positive infection without the need for antibiotics.

So all things considered, I'm going to recommend you start soaking vitamins in his food: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/vitamins-herbal-remedies.304287/

Vitamins will help boost his immune system, but won't cause any harmful side effects in case we are wrong about this being an infection.

I trust Humble if he says don't worry about antibiotics then I wouldn't. I'd still have them on hand just in case as they'll come in handy some day!
