So I’ve tried to find some forums but a lot of them are old or no one responds.. what type of equipment would i need to get into a fowlr tank?

Skimmer? Sump? Controllable lights? Apex? Dosing? Rectors?

Anyone have a fowlr tank they’d be willing to share or just know some tips?

Fowlr tanks don't really require a whole lot. I would still do a sump with a skimmer, and heater. But more major pieces of equipment such as reactors and dosing pumps and aquarium controllers, while nice, are not required as you have no coral. For lighting basic lighting can be used such as the Current Orbit Marine LED strip light. :)

As always you’re a wonderful help. Thanks!

Little off the topic, do you think if i got a 525xl reefer that I would be able to squeeze in a niger trigger in the tank if it’s Fowlr? I might get back into corals one day and that set up comes with a sump and space for equipment and such.

Depending on the size of the Niger trigger, a 5 foot tank should be fine for a while.
I also agree with Crabs, you can be pretty basic with a FOWLER, but a sump and skimmer are a must for me just to help keep things tidy

Do you have a fowlr tank?

Not currently, but have several times in the past. At the moment, my tanks are coral tanks.
My 240 may become a Fowler if I get around to ordering my BIG tank..
Having a skimmer and sump make anything you want to do easier (IMO). The ability to potentially oversize a skimmer for a tank that has big eaters (and subsequently big poopers) like triggers, groupers, large angels and tangs alike necessitate a skimmer. Could it be done without. Absolutely. But in all the years I have been keeping tanks large or small, the more tedious the maintenance routine is, the more likely things will be put off or not done at all.
Having a skimmer is a step in maintaining better water quality for our fishy friends and making things like water changes, changing carbon, etc. less regimented. Not that I am saying not to do water changes, quite the opposite, but if I had a Fowler with large fish with large appetites and no skimmer, I would be doing large regular water changes. By removing dissolved organics, which is what a skimmer does, things like carbon can be more effective and changed less frequently.
A sump is something that allows flexibility in many ways. A place for a skimmer, reactors etc make it a no brainier for me.

My 100 gallon fowlr tank has a 30 gallon sump, nitrogen reactor, oversized skimmer (Magus curve 7). In the sump, I run Marine Pure balls, poly filter, chemi pure elite.

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate you taking the time.

My fowlr is pretty basic. Heater, canister filter, circulation pump, and a cheapo light from Ikea.

What would you recommend for power head? A gyre maxpsect?

Fish don't require alot of flow, generally 15 to 20x turnover for your tank volume. For just a fowlr I wouldn't go nuts on powerheads, the Hydor pumps would be a great fit for something like this :)
