Hi reefers,

I had a Fox Face in a 100 gallon aquarium. I had it for 3 mounts now. Until yesterday it was all fine, eating, no signs of illness. Yesterday in the morning, i found him with the camouflage active, seating in the corner of the tank, very weak, carried by the current. There was no changes in the water parameters, no new fish added in the tank for few mounts. All the other fish are eating well, no other signs of worry. I have removed it from aquarium, looking for the very small sign of strange things on it, but nothing. It looks healthy and fat. The same day, few hours later, he gave his last breath.

So please help me understand what can be so I can look in the future for my other fish.

Thank you!

Unfortunately we don’t always know why fish die and it’s very hard to know after death. But as a precaution and often the best thing to do/most recommended thing is to quarantine them and treat broadly as a precaution before going into the display or only buying from trusted vendors who quarantine.

Same thing happened to mine after I had it for about a year. No new additions or changes. Just wouldn't eat one day and died that night. It wasn't full grown or that old. All other fish were fine.
