Fox face tank size

Hi

Will a 5ft by 2 by 2, be good enough for a foxface ?

Ta
I have 2, eventually 3 in that size tank, they don’t swim as much as people assume. They get big but I find their activity makes them suitable for 4 foot tanks (3 foot if the rock is designed around them).

How many gallons? Im guessing 120 or something? Should be fine if its above 100 as they do get to be big fish but like @i cant think said not super active. Mine casually float around my 300 gallon together. Not like my tangs that are super active all the time!

I would say youre good since its not like a 70 gallon! My magnificent out grew my 70 (when I had it) super fast and I had to move him!

Which foxface? I understand Signanus magnificus, vulpinus and uspi all get around 9.5 inches (24-24cm) at full length, whereas unimaculatus is a bit smaller at slightly under 8 inches (20xm). @i cant think am I wrong on that?
Magnificus I’ve found is always a smaller species with a 6-7 inch maximum size.

My numbers are coming from fishbase, which are of course wild specimen lengths. Any idea what unimaculatus tops out at in aquaria? I have that one on my list for the 83 gal. Sorry, not so much into magnificus!

Normally they’re I find 5-6 inches, some of the species I work around are a foot in length and others are only 5-7 inches but all our big rabbits have been from tank break downs and are at least 5-8 years.

Which ones are a foot!? I'd like mine to be on the smaller size for the 83 gal, especially as they have a reputation as fast growers.

Just seen your other post:

So you think unimaculatus will outgrow a magnificus or an uspi?

Siganus guttatus is a monster, the one I work around is pushing a foot if not over.

The Scribbled is easily one of the smallest I’ve worked around at 5-6 inches maximum size.

Uspi is one of the larger species I’ve seen with 7-8 inch maximum size (albeit they aren’t nearly as active as you’d think even for a Foxface) and unimaculatus is a similar size of 6-7 inches.

I’d say if you go for a Rabbitfish/Foxface look at Scribbled and Vulpinus. They grow fast in the first year but then very quickly slow in growth.

Is the only difference between fox faces the size? Struggling to find info online
Foxfaces vs Rabbitfish or do you mean the differences between the various species of Foxface?

For the scribbled (Siganus doliatus?), is that just typical sizes you see for young fish? Because Fishbase and LA put them at around 11" full grown. It's a really beautiful fish, but I'd be afraid its going to become massive.

Temperament and bubble algae-eating behavior similar to foxfaces?

The difference between one spot ,lo and magnificent..
It’s colour and size mainly, one spot is yellow with a black splotch on it sometimes a black square.
Lo is the common, solid yellow Foxface. The Largest of the 3 IME.
Magnificent is the most unique Foxface IMO. It’s white overall with minimal yellow and even some red. Also the smallest of the 3 IME.
