These are fast growers. Here is about nine months. As always, my apologies for the bad iPhone pics (and it is an old iPhone too):

looks great even with the iphone pic, glad to know it grows fast. I have patients issues and sps growth times have always been my bane. But how i like looking back that year or two to see where it came from once there.

I've had one a couple months and it has just based out slightly. What kind of light and flow are you guys keeping it under?

Can you gents tell us how far it was from light source and how many hours of MH it gets? Thanks!

Very nice growth buddy!! Def seems to be settling in nicely!!

Metal Halide, good flow (I don't get crazy with it, but plenty) and NSW level water parameters.

Are you supplementing your MH with any t5 or led?

No, not me either. There is nothing to supplement with MH... if I was going to pay for extra wattage and fixtures, I would just squeeze another MH on there. I use the 14k Phoneix DE on m80 ballasts.

Growing mine about 12” down under LED. Had it for a while. Originally was told low light, but it did very little. Then got shaded by a large table, not good. Since I’ve moved it up into brighter light and more flow it’s grown more in the last 2 months than the 10 prior. Still waiting for the crazy colors from the stock photo ...…

Thanks to this thread, I moved mine up to the top of the tank. Within 2 weeks I have tiny bright gold tips on every single little tips, including the TINIEST little nubs I thought were just polyps!

Question for those who's had fast growth - what's the nutrient levels in your tank? N and P04? Do feed and dose aminos? Thanks!

I think nutrients depends on the tank. Some tanks do better with higher nutrients and some do better with low. I think the idea is to have some nutrients in your tank and keep it stable. The growth, in my opinion, comes from lighting and flow. If your water parameters are stable and you have good flow and lighting, you will get growth. I’ve used LEDs, T5s and now metal halides over the course of a year and a half. Once I added T5s to my LEDs, growth wasn ridiculous. But now using T5s with metal halides, growth is about the same but color is so much better. I do feed with reef snow and aminos from brightwell. Great products in my opinion. Your fox flames will color up nicely/slowly as long as your tank is stable.
