Would a freshwater dip do anything? I have prazipro coming but it won't be here until tomorrow.

Why are you treating with PraziPro again? Do you think he has flukes?

If you think he might have flukes a freshwater dip would tell for sure. But, I'd be cautious giving him one on his current state since they can be somewhat stressful.

Kind of at a loss. It's been almost a week like this now. He will nibble at food here and there but mostly he is on the bottom on his side. Last night he swam for a few min but today it's back to the bottom. Breathing doesn't look labored.

Did the peeled peas help at all?

Maybe try feeding metroplex/focus with some food first. It's one scoop of each with a tablespoon of food (I use frozen). Feed it twice a day for 10 days.

That would take care of any internal parasites, which I feel might be more likely to cause this issue. Dosing PraziPro *might* help with internal parasites, but might not. Feeding the other medicine directly to the gut is most effective.

Still in the same shape. Not eating. Stomach looks bloated. Maybe constipated? Dosed tank with epsom salt. Hopefully this will help.

If he's not eating, that's not a good sign. I almost wonder if he might have a swim bladder infection.

Have you tried anything else yet? The metroplex maybe?

Update. Still holding on. Thought he was a goner the other day. I just added second dose of metroplex. He seems to be getting better. He can change color again, his dorsal spikes are functioning again, he can hold himself upright, and he is eating nori, His tail is dragging when he swims. Almost seems like the back half is paralized.

No it definitely looks more like he can't use his tail. Tail end staying lower than his head when he swims.

Hmmm. I’m not sure. Well keep giving him meds maybe try hyposalinity to see if it’s a parasite that metro can’t take care of

Keep going with the metroplex, especially if it's helping. The way you describe him swimming however, sounds more like a spinal injury. More common in wrasses trying to jump out of a tank with a hard lid, but it can be caused by a fish being spooked and abruptly hitting the rocks or glass. If that's the case, it is about 50/50 on it righting itself.

Hopefully not a spinal injury. Is there any kind of sickness that can cause it?

Good news!! I added the Foxface back to the dt. He's been back about 4 days now. He doesn't seem quite as strong as he was, but he is very active. Picking algae and floating around. His tail still seems a little week, but it's sting enough to keep him in steady in the current. Thanks for all the help. I thought for sure he was a gonner.

Glad to see he's recovering!

Thats good news! Im happy, i just got a foxface yesterday. Beatiful fish. I have no idea whats wrong, if you keep feeding him, he should get better imo.

I wonder if it could have a spike from a sea urchin of bristle worm stuck.
