Looks to be an abrasion from a rock or piece of aquarium equipment. It does not look infected. Best course of action is keep an eye on it. Healthy fish heal from this just fine. I wouldnt be too worried at this time.

Ok. No real backstory but he is an idiot. Like has been stuck on the back of the WM twice always trying to squeeze into the rocks he shouldn’t and hes scared of his own shadow.

Scratch or bacterial
Keep an eye on it to assure it doesn’t become infection
Healing is quick if scratch with good water quality and diet

Does your's dart around like mine, mine gets this all the time because he's fat and runs full speed inside, and squeezes in rocks he can't fit in, then realizes it's me and I have food.

Also these fish usually have cloudy eyes I always wonder how good they can see. I guess they go mostly off lateral line sight..

Yeah mines cloudy and just swims up and down like a nut begging for food. Then gets scared for no reason at all.

Do you have any tangs in the tank? At the center of that lesion, I can see what *might* be a tang scalpel strike....

Yes and they are butt buddies. Like they get a little to close sometimes. Always nervous the FF will sting the tang.

Glad to see everyone else's Foxface is as skitish as mine. The hippo of a fish darts around when it gets scared and knocks things over! Or my favorite when all the lights are off and I'm in the room near the tank splashes a ton of water out the top because it thinks Babayaga is coming for it! But it is a resilient fish that has had scrapes fin nips and other wounds but keeps on kicking.
