Hey all, I just moved my tank across town and everything is doing great. However, today, I noticed my foxface Lo has started nipping at my zoas and now my clam mantle. I can't watch him destroy a clam I've had for 2 years. Is there anything I can feed him to try and keep him from nipping? He's not actually eating any of the coral or clam. However, I fear it will turn into this behavior. Is there a fish trap I can make or one that I can buy to get him out. It's very frustrating because I just really started to like this fish. :tsk:

feed him some macro algae or nori on a clip

I put some nori in. He picked at it with little enthusiasm and is now going to town on the clam mantle. :mad2:

I also tried feeding some frozen food. I usually feed flake foods because I can control nutrients easier. I thought maybe he was hungry but not so much. He's picking at my zoas too. I noticed a polyp floating around earlier and didn't think anything of it until I caught him picking at them all.

Now the clam is all retracted and he's going around attacking my chalices! What is going on? Did he all of the sudden just lose it? He's not even fully matured. Maybe 4" at the most. Now this behaviour comes out of no-where. If I can't get a trap my clam will be dead in a few days due to stress.

Can you make a temporary enclosure out of eggcrate to protect the clam until you catch the rabbitfish? or perhaps partition off a section of the tank?

We don't have any right now. We can probably get some tomorrow.

I put a silicone net thing I have over the clam for now. It looks like it should stay on him for now. I will get a fish trap asap.

My friends FF destroyed his zoas! Keep the lights out till you can get a trap! LOL!
