I’ve had a one spot foxface in Qt from divers den since Friday. He’s been swimming, eating, and acting pretty normal till today. He seems to be having out a lot at the bottom of the tank and breathing very rapidly. He other fish are breathing at a much more “normal” rate. Any ideas. So far just one round of prazi and I just did a 25% WC. Was going to do another round tomorrow.

Thoughts? His color has changed a bit too

What are your parameters? Do you have an ammonia alert badge? How much prazi did you dose? Its known to suppress appetite and deplete oxygen levels. What are you doing to increase gas exchange? And are you dosing any other meds?

No ammonia, have a badge and checked with api test too, circulation is a powerhead aimed at the surface and an aquaclear 70. Tank is a 20L. Only meds so far was one round of prazi started Sunday morning and I dosed a little less than a teaspoon. Directions say 1 teaspoon per 20g

i added an old airstone/pump for an hour last night before i put lights out in the tank, not sure it helped but the sound of the airpump freaked all the fish out so i didnt run it much longer, ill do more today while they are "awake". still no change in the foxface though... any thoughts? should i put him in the display or too risky?

Don't put him in the display, not when it's already so likely there's some kind of issue :( But, watching that video, mine acts like that even in the DT any time I upset him or disturb his peace and tranquility. He did it even more often while in QT during a fallow period. He likes to eat though and will rapidly return to yellow, eat like a pig, then go back to moping. Be sure he has some hiding places, even if it ignores them. Hopefully others can help figure out what may actually be wrong, and really hope it turns out to be ok!

thanks, good to know. i'm pretty certain its not the water based on testing and the other fish in QT are fine, he does still eat. i have been feeding him new spectrum pellets, and he occasionally has eaten some mysis i feed the meat eaters. i put some nori in before and he ignored it, i'm not sure he knew what it was since it was in a the IM nori feeder thing. i have some sea lettuce in my tank (bought the foxfish to take care of it), ill pull some off the rocks and put it in the QT.
