I'm looking for some more information about size differences between the foxface rabbitfish (Siganus vulpinus) and the one-spot foxface (S. unimaculatus). I've read that there's some dispute as to whether or not these are even two separate species, with the only real difference being the spot and the maximum listed size. However my question on size is a bit more specific. I realize that the max size (10" vs 8" for the one-spot) is probably the max recorded size in a wild fish, and doesn't necessarily indicate the size the fish will grow to in an aquarium. What I want to know is whether or not these two fish will grow to different sizes in captivity? I've heard of both reaching close to 8" in captivity, but not larger than that. Anyone else have any experience with these fish that can chime in? Thanks

I just picked up one Saturday, a small 3" S. Unimaculatus. There were several to choose from. Started eating immediately after placing in the tank, nipping at the rocks, and I fed it a couple of hours later.

Yes, I read that article. I have no concerns about keeping either fish. My question was regarding the difference in maximum size. Anyone else?
