hey guys so I introduced a yellow tang with my fox face and the tang kept picking on him so I took him out and left the fox face in there. Before that tang he was always out in front and swim to the top of the tank to eat but it’s been almost 2 weeks since then and he’s still constantly camo and hiding he eats when I feed them but he’s still stressed is there anything I can do to help with it or just watch him and hope it gets better. Only other fish in the tank now is 2 clown fish and he’s been with those fish his whole time of me having him

If there are no injuries on the Fox then all you can do is leave him alone. Try adding nori on a clip, my fox can’t pass that.

feed well as he may not be getting enough food from picking algae in your tank.

What size tank? How big is the fox face? Usually a mature fox face and its venomous spines can hold its own against a more aggressive tang. How much grazing rock is there.

Few ideas.
1). Hang a mirror on the side of the tank. Hopefully this will make tang think there is another of its kind in the tank and give the fox face some rest from the constant harassment.

2). Add a second algae clip, and perhaps a some additional feedings. If they are both food secure will remove one common source of aggression.

Yeah they are no injuries that I’ve noticed on him I’ll try adding the nori on a clip but my rock has tons of algae available to him that he use to eat but now it’s like he won’t touch it but he’ll eat the food I put in.

I also tried the mirror trick and doing additional feedings it just wasn’t working out for me. So I took the tang out and currently have him in a QT tank

You can try some pheromone treatment.

When do a water change on the dt, use the old water as the new water on the qt. I am not saying this will work 100% but it wont hurt anything and is free :)

Goal is get the fish used to the smell and taste of the other fish without any possibility of harm.
