I have a Foxface that developed a popeye injury (because just one eye) yesterday? He was swimming fine and eating last night. Since he stresses so easily I decided to wait to see how he would do. This morning he is hiding and seems to be feeling worse but still eating. Foxface is temporarily in a 75 with 5 other small fish. My 125 is fallow due to ich from not quarantining macro algae. Lesson learned... I have treated fish for ich end June/July and no signs at all since. I used tank transfer method with smaller 20g. tanks. I know that this tank is overcrowded but I carefully monitor my water and all fish get along peacefully. He is with a long nose butterfly, melanauras wrasse, falco hawk, 3 inch porcupine puffer and a 2 inch picasso trigger. All fish are quarantined from instructions from here. Thank you all for the wonderful information you all have contributed to this forum! My water tests at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 50 nitrates (high), ph 8.0. Water change is due. Tank is a 75 gallon fowler with a 15 gallon sump and a protein skimmer rated for 125 gallons. My question is should I move foxface to a quarantine tank and maybe treat with antibiotics and Epsom salt or should I leave him where he is? I'm torn over this because he stresses so much every time he gets moved. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.
