Hi everyone,
I have taken some pics of my foxface because i am mot sure what these marks on her side is. I came in this morning to find her like this, and dont know whether she as scratched herself on the rocks or she as being stung by my nems.
Can somebody please help and advise how to treat her.

Foxface have very thick slime coats, typically it would be a sting or perhaps she's "shedding" her mucous layer which they do sometimes. To be honest I cannot tell much from the photos, aside from a fish ID.

Some questions and better photos will help:

1) How long have you had the fish?
2) Any other symptoms?
3) Tankmates?
4) Do you quarantine?
5) How long has your tank been set up?

Hi, i have had her for about twenty one months. As for other symtoms, no.
The tank mates all get on together,
1 kole, 1 coral beauty, 2 clarkys, 4 cromis,
2 neon gobys, 1 scooter blenny, 2 lyretail anthias. Also 4 bubble tip nems.
Yes i quarantine.
My tank is twenty two month old.

Mine had spots like that & I suspected slime coat shedding as mentioned above. I added prazipro and it was gone overnight. Another possibility it might of had "scrapes" with your tang. They compete for the same foods/algae. I had to separate mine from a powder brown tang because at feeding time it was battle royal

I am guessing it's an injury or shedding slime coat. Report back in 24-48 hours and let us know how it looks.

Thankyou for your advice, i think that i will hang around for a couple of days and watch her. Hopefully they are just stings or scratches. There is no scrapping between my kole and my foxface as i watch them closely when they feed times.
As for prazipro it is difficult to get hold of in the UK, but i may try to get some through ebay and keep in just incase .
