I believe it’s from fighting as there is a bit of aggression every day and seams foxface is always the common denominator

I’ve noticed a few marks on his left side as well as a scratch on his nose .

What is it ?

Interesting....no clue. Had one (Foxface Lo) a while with my YT, but the battle I think was too much for the Foxface. Following this one....

He’s always fighting with every tang .

mata , orange shoulder , yellow all give him a ride for his money .
catch them tail slapping him daily ,
Sounds like they are protecting their food source. Do you feed crap loads of greens?

Of course he's fighting with every tang. They're all herbivores, they fight over the food source. I had our Foxface in a 60 gal with a Powder Brown tang and it was "WWE Battle Royal". Both were badly scarred - I moved the Foxface to another tank and now he's in a 120 and about 6" long & an inch thick.

In your pics it looks like he got spooked and ran into a rock. When mine had the big time battle, the tang had scars in a direct line from Foxface dorsals and the Fox had triangular marks all over it from tang backing into it.
