Meet Fox, this is his aquarium build.

Notice his 90g aquarium in the background...he said it was too small...this hurt my feelings so I told him if he sold his etss skimmer. We'd build him a bigger aquarium.

Here goes.

This is what we started with.

Fox got a used tank, kinda ratty.

One of my friends volunteered his services to build him a stand and canopy.

He did a pretty awesome job on both but there was a lot of work to be done.

We started prioritizing projects between.
Prepping aquarium
Prepping stand and canopy
Plumbing

First things first, get the aquarium lookin presentable. I called in reinforcements. You notice Fox is nowhere to be found.

We painted the back black, drilled an extra hole, had a friend build some killer overflows, and poof...a new aquarium was born.

Had to devise a way to fill chips and make it aesthetically pleasing.

Next was employing the wife to do the stain work. :) She did an Amazing job.

I painted the inside of the stand and canopy white.

Fox decided to come out and supervise.

So next was the strategic event of getting the coral and fish in a QT, the rock out, the 90g broken down, the rock put back in the 90 in a different location (dining room), and the new stand and tank moved.

Thankfully, Fox has some big friends to help.

Tanks up, time to fill er up.

Slow process. I mixed it in the garage and carried it in 15 gallons at a time. I got a little help from the elf.

Time for lights and plumbing. Currently Fox only has 4 Radion g2s. He might get another for my birthday though. We built a fixture from square aluminum.

He decided to pitch in and help with the plumbing since I had never done anything with pvc before.

I built him a manifold with 5 ball valves. 3 1/2" and 2 3/4". The 1/2s are for GFO and carbon reactors, the 3/4 are for water changes and biopellet reactors.

I also incorporated quick-disconnects so I don't have to redial in the valves after servicing the reactors.

Very nice build I like the stand. I need to figure out how to make one for my tank.

Next came the fun task of wiring, testing for leaks, and PUTTING IN THE "sheesh" as Fox calls them.

Also put in the 3 reactors, 2 nextreef mr1s and 1 smr1.

A couple mp40s on the back and some mp60s on the ends and she's ready to go.

Beautiful stand, I love the choice of stain. Fox is a lucky guy.
