I removed the vermited snail. And did a water change. Our nitrates were elevated because we increased our feeding schedule to make sure our new copper band was eating well. The water change did wonders. For the algae but I am concerned about the what appears to be the flesh receding around the base I am attaching today's photo. I did not clean the frag. Just a water changeWell without you stating your parameters hard to tell, but I see a couple of issues besides that. (Add tested parameters )
One looks like 2 vermited snails on the frag. Take frag out of tank with tank water break tube with tweezers. Next dip a q tip in hydrogen peroxide. Yes the one for humans.
Rub it outside of the water all around the plug/exoskeleton of coral leave out of water for around a minute. Rinse in container with tank water and place back in tank will kill alage. Dont put q tip on the flesh part of coral.
