Frag ID & health

I bought this frag about 2 months ago. For the last 2 weeks, the bottom of the frag has turned green and is no longer blooming like the rest.

Does anyone know what kind of coral this is and is it in good health? How can I remove or medicate the lower half?

Potentially an Alveopora Coral, looks very upset. Low light and low flow.

A little too much current for this guy. You can clearly tell the puffy side with less current appears happier. At least for now move to less current and feed it reed roids or similar every day. Don't mess with trying to fix the injured portions, leave it alone.

Thanks! I've moved it from a coral rack 1/3 towards the top to the bottom yesterday. Fingers crossed.

I had the same coral and I think it's because of low flow as @crab said. Mine didn't survive either.

I've got the same coral.. or close.. either a gonipora or as stated above...it was super happy at petco in some horrendous conditions... it's been in my tank almost 2 months and hasn't opened all the way except once.. low flow..hogh flow...low light high light... med flow... med light.. nothing I have found to keep it happy :-(

I have a second goni.. it was looking like death at petco... came to life in my tank for a few months.. and is now looking like death again too...woth no change that I know of :-(

Something to note, these corals prefer nutrients in the water. Small feedings a couple times a week could help. They can handle turbulent flow, just not constant blasting from one side.

I've read that too..
I'm pretty sure I have alot of nutrients in my water.. I never feed my hammer and torch coral... but every day at about 10 pm.. they both close up.. and poop.. so I always assume they are getting plenty of coral food/ waiste/ planktonic food in the water itself..
Maybe they need a different food source ?
I do feed the tank with a coral food like reef frenzy twice a week ( a brand called "ME" based out of florida"

As far as food recommendations I really liked reef rods mixed with reef nutrition oyster feast. It makes a nice thick slurry that stays around the coral when target feeding with all pumps off. A little goes a long way!
