Hey R2R needed help deciding if I should frag, move, or just leave my euphyllia alone. It seems they are getting too big for my tank but if I move some rocks and coral around I could probably leave them for another 6 months or so before I have to frag them. What do you guys think?

Gorgeous tank! I'm getting to the same spot with some of my Euphyllia. I intend to frag them because I just can't bring myself to accept the thought of running a tank without any Euphyllia. :)

Personally, I would let them grow for as long as I could, then frag them when they're just too big to manage. Make some room and money on the frags, and go buy some others to fill in the gaps.

Thanks...yea that’s what I decided to do just move them around and give them more space so they can grow and I’ll frag them later

My branching hammer is really going crazy right now. I had to move a nearby chalice that was being attacked, but I can't bring myself to frag the colony!

Nice corals. Any tips for getting the euphyllia to grow? Mine have had no growth over the pas sevearl months and are still just the single head frags that I purchased. They are nice and fat and healthy, but they just won't grow new heads. Literally every other coral I have, are showing obvious growth, but the Euphyllia show zero growth. Any suggestions?

I will say this, I have a suspicion that my nutrient levels are too low (nitrates and phospates), but I do not have an accurate tester for those right now. I am thinking of getting the Hanna Phosphate tester as well as a Nyos Nittate Tester, whenever I can next afford them. Ay the moment though, I rely on test strips in order to check the levels of both, and they consistently come up as the same color that corresponds with Zero ppm.

I have been told previously to feed more, but I am always worried I might end up feeding too much, and cause sharp swing in parameters or evem worse, a crash. Plus my hammers and frogspawn don't really seem to care for being fed anything. Reef roids? Spit that out immediately. Coral Frenzy lps pellets? Hit or miss. Frozen mysis? Will eat in most cases.

This is exactly what was happening to my Euphyllia. When I had ~0.25 ppm nitrates and ~0.04 ppm phosphates, I couldn't get my Euphyllia to grow. Now, I keep my nitrates at 2-3 ppm with phosphates around 0.04-0.06 ppm, and the Euphyllia are growing and happy!
