I'm looking to manicure my leather I have a 15g and i don't want it taking over.. and it has a nice spot it fills.. Can I simply razor blade a piece off while in the tank.. I ask only because taking it out to frag is an improbability

I would recommend cutting it outside of your tank. Rinse it off with tank water, place it bank in the tank, and replace the water you used for the rinse. Should heal quite quickly. You can always donate the piece you don't want to someone less fortunate on a reef club website.

Cutting it with some sharp scissors inside the tank is another option. You don't have to handle the coral in any way, just make sure it's nice and full before you do make the cut though. A quick snip here & there and your done. GL.

Thank you guys.. I am going to give the frags to my larger 55g new setup.. until they start going nuts growing then I will donate and sell what I can.. cloak the link was extremely helpful thanks

Snip attach to some live rock then trade in for more coral or dry goods. Few different ways to attach.

If in larger tank place on rubble in low flow zone.

I know people who do a tooth pick threw the frag attach TP to rock with rubber band for a week the pull all. If TP sticks just chop off what you can. Use non colored TP.

Some people use nylons or cover in mesh for a week on top of rubble.
