Frag Plugs - Do Certain Types or Certain Brands Attract more Algae than Others?

I am getting a lot of Algae on my Frag Plugs.

Somewhere somebody made the comment that some Frag Plugs Attract Algae because they have more "Nutrients" in them to Feed the Algae than other Types/Brands.

So My Question is

Do Certain Types or Certain Brands of Frag Plugs Attract more Algae than Others?

I am currently using Ocean's Wonders Frag Plugs.

I have been using the clear acrylic ones they clean off real easy if they do get anything on them

I use The Alternative Reef Large Reef Disks
algae grow extremely fast.

I make DIY ceramic plugs and when I was readying up on making them I came across (When the clay is fired there is ash that is left on the frag plug that was fired) It is always good to rinse them or even cure them before use. The same thing with cement plugs. Cement will also leach p04.
