So how many people here prefer ceramic plugs over aragonite plugs? I’ve noticed my ceramic plugs don’t accumulate algae like my aragonite ones do.

Also I’ve been looking all over for the small frag plugs that can actually sit next to each other on egg crate and not have to stagger the 3/4 base ones. Anyone know where I can find them?

I prefer the ceramic plugs for the same reason. I have yet to find the smaller diameter plugs. Although I have bought some frags from different places online that have sent coral on them. When I went to their online store to check, they did not sell them. So I'm still looking.

I found some ceramic plugs that are smaller than 3/4”. Here’s the link:

I use ocean wonders black ceramic plugs in the normal 3/4” and they fit in egg crate with one square in between. You can get them bulk for 100 plugs/$20 direct from the supplier. I bought 100 of each size and haven’t had to worry about frag plugs in a long time.

I use reefcreators ceramic 3/4 plugs. They sit next to eachother perfectly on my racks.
The 1 and 1.25" ones do not.
I actually bought some of the reef creators and they should be here soon. They claim they sit next to each other. I bought the black ones that have a hole in them. Labeled as acro plugs.

I frag zoas so I like the added pressure of either selling the plug or fragging it before it goes on to the next one or frag rack haha.

True that. I feel your pain. I have 4 frag racks completely covered with meteor shower and another covered with overgrown rastas.
Bout time to scrape everything into the trash lol.

I stay away from the black plugs.
I had one my diamond dremel wheel wouldnt even make a dent on!

I use the reef creators too, I have their small regular plugs, and the black acro plugs. The acro plugs work great for stick coral.

But your not going to fill every hole in the egg crate, you will have to stagger them

Yeah i figured it wasn't possible on the egg crate but I do have a frag rack I like to use for taking pictures. The spacing on the rack should be far enough they can sit next to each other for a frag pack pic.
