No idea why I thought they would be fragile, but it's good to know that they can handle harsh environments. I had no idea, honestly.

I always thought the same thing as well until I had a conversation with Chad a little while ago. It stemmed from someone asking a question similar to yours in a different thread. He mentioned he let one of his batches get to 4ppm ammonia with no I'll effects atall and it's relatively common to see, more so in his case as he has massive batches with large volumes of water. Not that it's good practice or anything lol

To throw in my $.02, I just upgraded my Coral/Invert QT to a 14 gallon Nuvo. The AIO aesthetics and added filtration give me a better piece of mind.

Until this point I was using a 20 long with a HOB. Switching to the AIO I feel maintinance will be easier, parameters will be more consistent, and the smaller footprint is easier to light.

For corals to hangout 72 days in a QT there needs to be some kind of quality light source to keep them happy.

You could pick up a 10 gallon IM of Waterbox for $100 (if not cheaper) and use the remaining gear you already have.

I have a couple of t5 lights I could employ for coral qt. I hope they are enough, but I'll find out at some point.
