Frag rack out of light defuser

Seen a local reefer using light defuser as a frag rack. Bought some from Home Depot for $16. I did not think about this, is that material ok to put in a reef tank?

zip ties work to hold it together

That’s my issue I’m having. I have zip ties but I’m trying to make 4 legs to hold it up

I think I’m just going to go back to homedepot and get small pvc pipe for the legs

I made a frame out of PVC and then zip tied the diffuser to it.

I used the same eggcrate and just super glued it to a magnafloat and added some supports.

Some guy on Reef2Reef sells really nice legs to hold up eggcrate/light diffuser. They come in different heights. I believe he offers them through Etsy:

With black egg crate they look really sharp.

Have not went to Home Depot yet, but was able to make this for temporary. Not perfect but it can hold 2 water bottles

I did mine like this:
Used reef glue to attach suction cups to eggs crate and after glue dried for 24 hours placed a zip tie through it just to be sure it held.

Tie some fish line to it and hang it in the water from ur light or hanger.

If you have some extra magnet scrapers you can glue one to the rack and lock the other on the outside of the tank. Position it where you want.

I also went to the dollar store and got these little 2" square mini ceramic flower pots. I epoxy them to the underside middle of a length of grid and the make a perfect stand. Also heavy enough to keep the stand from moving around.
