120 mixed reef, tanks about 1.5 years now.
alk 8.6, cal. 410, pho’s. .14 and nitrates at around 10. Running a ATI powermodule with 6 bulb t5 with led supplement.
The color is fading very slowly. Every sps in the tank is showing growth including this guy till about a week ago when I noticed it starting to lose its color. I may move it under more light tomorrow night to see if that helps. Check out my aptasia forest too. I think my wrasse ate my berghia nudibranches.
Any thoughts?
thank you,
Jim

Maybe I missed something, but is there a reason your title says that the Fart is fading out? Haha

Joking aside, I think being stung by Aiptasia is definitely an issue. Also any big changes in parameters lately? Any swings or other drastic changes happen faster than normal? How's your flow? It's are great but did you recently change bulbs, or need to change bulbs? Sorry for playing 20 questions, just wanting to cover everything.

Another thing yes I think it's highly likely your wrasse demolished your Berghia, peppermint time (:

matted file heaven,if a problem easy to remove at night

Pull the coral, cut off all the dead skeleton, use coral dip and rinse in dishes of tank water, then put back in tank and hope the recession stops

too much light. I had same problem for very long time and find the solution in a hard and sad way. raise the fixture and lower your po4 to 0.03-.0.1.

Look closely at the pic, there's tissue necrosis. It's not a lighting issue as the coral is not 'fading', it's dying

yes it is dying. but it is more likely from too much lighting since the coral is having it from the tip of its skeleton. if you are having necrosis from bottom or stn rtn it is most likely from alk swing.
That is why I suggest to raise the fixture and lower the po4 level to normal since 0.14 is little high.

high phos can cause this as well. But power module with led supplement is super strong lighting

Majano Wand. The only thing that finally got rid of my Aptasia. Plus is ridiculously great sadistic fun to fry the suckers. My wrasse ate $350 of Berghia!

Went to bed last night not knowing what spell check had done to my title. So, the tank parameters are stable, no swings. That coral has been in place for months with nice color and growth. Phos is just slightly elevated and am running reducer. There are no aptasia near enough to the frag to sting it. The color loss started at the tip and took about two weeks to really lose all the color. The trunk is fading, not losing skin like stn. I run 6 ATI coral plus bulbs and run about 12 hours with 2 bulbs and the middle 4 run about 6 hrs. The front two bulbs are not functioning.
I tried the wand but with the amount I now have it would be a full time job to kill them all. Might look into a file fish.
