I recently bought a new tank which i plan to turn into a frag tank these are what it came with. As this is my first frag tank i wanted to check if this would do the job.
Also does anyone know about the light and whether it will do the job. It will be lighting mainly lps and softies but maybe some sps in the future.

Tank is a 3ft 45L Mr aqua. (Bookshelf) aquarium. 3ft x 10" x 10"

Running an aqua one ocellaris 400 canister filter with floss, carbon and marine pure balls

Aqua one 150w heater

Aquael 2600 l/ph wave maker

Carib sea rock and Sand

The light is an up aqua z series coral/marine. Actinic blue. 90cm.

Not sure on the light. I've never heard of it. But you may want to reconsider the canister filter uunless you're able to keep it in prestine condition. They're known to become nitrate factories if not cleaned out regularly. A simple hang on back aquaclear filter would do the job :) everything else looks good though, just unsure on the light.
Edit: just checked out the light, it would be fine for soft coral and lps, probably not strong enough for sps. Par value only gives it about 150 par at 6 inches. For high demand sps you was 250 or more.

Thanks mate. Yeah i understood if have to keep the canister clean. Im probably going to take the carbon out and just have the marine pure and filter floss. Thanks for replying really appresiated. For the lights what would you recommend for sps?

Depends on your budget and available features you want. If you want something inexpensive that is going to grow coral i'd look into SB Reef lights or Reef Breeders or even the chinese black boxes on ebay. Those lights will grow anything you put under them. If you're looking for more features such as ramping for sunset and sunrise, thunderstorm, cloud effects, wifi controllable i'd look at the AI Primes or Hydras, Kessils, or Ecotech Radions :)

Yeah i have two viparspectras on my display tank and they work great. So yeah ill probably get 1 of them for it.[emoji16]

That tank will be fairly hard for keeping parameters stable with sps frags going in and out of them. It would a cool tank to potentially plumb into your display. I don’t know anything about the light but it may support lps and softies but not sure about sps.

Good luck! I look forward to seeing how it works out!

Yeah i wish i could plumb it into my display but thats not an option because its in the hallway and theres no space in the sump. It would be way easier though i agree.
