So I have an extra compartment in my sump, and kind of want to use it as a frag section. It’s the second chamber right before the return pump. It’s either this, or a refugium. What do you guys think?

use it as a refugium.

What you might find as your corals grow is you'll want a separate frag tank for testing things like flow/water temps/Ph/etc that wont effect your main display. Its a better place to experiment when you want to see what makes certain corals grow faster then in your display so you can make those changes in your display.

It was a task to get my wife on board with a 180 in the living room hah. Only other place I could put a frag tank is in the den, and that’s where I’ll have to set up my QT tank whenever need be. If I do a refugium I was thinking the reactor from skimz? I don’t wany chateo floating all over the place. Thoughts on that?

I just put a filter sponge in the baffle after the refugium and it blocks anything from floating away. It generally grows in a ball though and really doesn't break away if healthy.
