I want to start a frag tank with all zoas and shrooms. I am wondering if I can run straight blues or if they will benefit from white light also. What do you all run on your frag tanks..? ..thanks in advance..Mike

I currently run a cheap LED fixture on my frag tank with some SPS, LPS and a ton of zoas/palys. I run mostly blues in the morning (9-12), some more intense white from (12-3) and then just blues from (3-7). So far I've had really good results with this, as for under straight blues they definitely could do well but I've never tried it, I'm sure others will chime in, lots of members have frag tanks so I'm sure someone has tried it.

I run an AI Prime on my JBJ 20 gal frag tank. I do run a lot of blues, but it has a normal whites cycle that is similar to my display tank's.

Depending on what blue you have it's only giving a very very narrow spectrum. The whites are generally going to give that blue spectrum as well plus a slightly wider spectrum in that blue nm range. Plus the drop off to ROYG but very little.
Depending on you whites. There not actually white. Usually 10k or 8k so it delivers the rest of the spectrum the corals need like we see in so many charts.
So yea. Run some whites.
